Valerie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified-Clinical Alcohol Tobacco & Other Drugs Social Worker and Academy of Certified Social Workers, in the state of Georgia and the owner and founder of Comprehensive Counseling Services, LLC. A Certified Addiction Counselor in GA, Valerie, began her career in social work in 2001 and founded CCS in 2006. She began her education at Georgia College & State University, earning her B.S. degree in Psychology, in 1999.

She graduated with Honors from Valdosta State University, with a Master’s of Social Work, in 2001. Valerie began her professional career, working at a community mental health center, where she gained invaluable experience, providing substance abuse treatment and evaluations, anger management counseling, and family violence intervention. She is a member of NASW (National Association of Social Workers), as well as GSCSW (Georgia Society for Clinical Social Work).

Valerie Wood, LCSW, C-CATODSW, ACSW, has over 20 years of experience working with various aspects of family violence, either through victim advocacy services, providing intervention, or conducting various trainings and seminars in Georgia. She has facilitated Family Violence Intervention groups, since 2001. Valerie is trained in EMDR and integrates these techniques into her practice. She is also a State Certified Clinical Alcohol and Drug Evaluator and Treatment Provider for DUI offenders, with the state of Georgia.

Valerie’s therapeutic approach is “Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy”, but integrates other modalities, to fit the needs of the individual. She provides individual psychotherapy, couples therapy, and group therapy.
